David Okereke scored his fourth Serie A goal of the season as Cremonese earned a point against Bologna on Monday.
The striker netted a second half penalty to put La Cremo ahead in what was coach Davide Ballardini first league game in charge.
Bologna’s Nico Dominguez used his fist to punch a ball rather than head it in the box, and Okereke converted the penalty after VAR intervention.
The Nigerian forward also tested Lukasz Skorupski with a control and half-volley, but the Bologna goalkeeper was up to the task.
Bologna however got a chaotic equalizer, after the goalkeeper parried Lewis Ferguson’s header on, but then two Cremonese defenders got into a muddle trying to avoid a Joshua Zirkzee tap-in and it ricocheted into the net off Vlad Chiriches.
Cremonese thought they had won another penalty when Felix Afena-Gyan was caught by Jhon Lucumi.
The decision was overturned after VAR intervened, and replays showed Lucumi clearly got the ball first.
The game ended 1-1 and Cremonese remain without a win in the league after 19 matches.
