A 31-year-old Nigerian man slumped and died on the pitch during a football match on Friday, 30 September.

The man who has been identified as Kingsley lost his life while playing with his friends at the Green Field Football Ground in Lekki.

His friends initially thought it was just a prank as one of them could be heard saying “don't mind this man” moments after he collapsed.

As per reports, the late Kingsley was quickly rushed to the Ever Care Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Kingsley was not a professional footballer; Doctors are yet to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of his death, reports say.
