A player and two officials were injured as Akwa United Football Club survived a serious accident along Ezionye Express road in Enugu, The Nations has said.

This was confirmed by the club in a tweet on Friday, March 12, 2021.

The accident occurred in Enugu en route to the Nigeria Professional Football League Match -Day 15 against Jigawa Golden Stars.

The three persons who were seriously injured have been taken to the hospital for proper examination and treatment, The Nations reports.

Other players and officials sustained minor injuries.
