Nigerian defender Ola Aina has become the subject of transfer speculation following his remarkable performance for Nottingham Forest this season.

The 28-year-old has been in exceptional form for Nuno Espírito Santo's side, who are currently sitting third in the Premier League behind Liverpool and Arsenal.

Aina has featured in all 29 Premier League matches for the Tricky Trees this season, registering two goals and an assist.

With his current Forest contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Super Eagles full-back has been tipped for a big move in the summer.

Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly interested in securing Aina's signature.

Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo believes Aina would be an excellent signing for Pep Guardiola's side due to his remarkable attacking prowess.

“Aina is currently one of the top three right-backs in the Premier League, and joining Manchester City wouldn’t surprise me at all,” Yobo said.

“It would be a masterstroke for both the player and Manchester City.

“He’s an imposing defender but also an excellent attacker, something Guardiola looks for in his full-backs.”
