Nigeria head coach Finidi George has admitted that the Super Eagles will face a motivated Benin Republic side following their victory in their last encounter against Rwanda.

The Squirrels come into their clash against the Super Eagles on the back of a 1-0 victory away at Rwanda.

The Super Eagles, on the other hand, are still hunting for their first win in the qualifiers campaign after recording three disappointing draws against Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and South Africa.

Nigeria will hope to bounce back from their sluggish start to the campaign when they lock horns against Gernot Rohr's side at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium later today, Monday, June 10.

Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Finidi George acknowledged the confidence boost for the Squirrels.

“They just won their last match and the morale is going to be very high in their team. We have to travel today, be in Abidjan, so we can do our training.

“We know tomorrow is the match and we’ll see how we have to play. They won their last match, so the spirit will be high.

“It was a good thing. We got to the hotel and rested a bit. We have our session this evening.”

The match will kick off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
