Nigerian international Ademola Lookman is racing against time to be fit ahead of Atalanta's crucial UEFA Champions League second-leg tie against Club Brugge.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year has been on the sidelines since sustaining a knee injury in late January.

The Super Eagles star has missed seven games across all competitions since the injury, including last week's UCL round of 16 playoffs first-leg clash against Brugge.

The 27-year-old was, however, part of Atalanta's training session with the rest of the group on Sunday afternoon.

Lookman is also expected to train with his teammates on Monday, February 17 (today).

According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the Atalanta star will most likely be available for selection as his side looks to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg.

Lookman has netted 14 goals and provided seven assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for the club.
