The newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, has given his take on the Super Eagles captainship position, which has continued to generate talking points.
Under Jose Peseiro, PAOK FC star William Troost-Ekong replaced team captain Ahmed Musa during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria finished as runners-up.
The reports further claimed that Finidi named Kenneth Omeruo as the new leader, being the squad's most senior international.
Omeruo rose through the ranks, featuring for the Nigeria U17 and U20 teams before earning a senior national team call-up in 2013.
He was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations under the tutelage of 'Big Boss' Stephen Keshi.
With over 11 years of experience on the team, he has already made 68 appearances and played in two FIFA World
