The Super Eagles striker's dream move to Stamford Bridge hit the rocks due to disagreement over his personal terms.
Whereas Saudi Pro League giants Al Ahli pulled out of the deal after Napoli changed their initial demand for the former Lille striker.
Speaking after completing his loan move to Galatasaray, the reigning African Footballer of the Year revealed that he spoke to Dries Mertens before joining the club.
“The atmosphere is incredible. It’s great to be here and to see Mertens again. I spoke to him before coming here,” Osimhen said, via Corriere dello Sport.
Osimhen and Mertens played together at Napoli for two seasons, before the Belgian international joined the Turkish Super Lig in 2022.
