Transfer: Dessers uncertain about his future at Rangers

Cyriel Dessers has admitted that he is uncertain about his future at Glasgow Rangers.

The 30-year-old recently lost his starting role to Moroccan international Hamza Igamane.

Dessers, who joined the Scottish giants from Cremonese in the summer of 2023, has managed just one league start for the Gers since December.

The Super Eagles striker has courted interest from clubs like Cagliari and Empoli in Serie A.

Dessers was asked about his future after coming off the bench to score in stoppage time against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, and he came out with the following:

“I don’t know what my outlook is now. I can imagine that Rangers might want to earn something from me now. But January is a difficult window,” Dessers told VI.

“Clubs that are doing well probably also have a striker who is performing well. And few clubs that need goals will immediately have the millions ready. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

The Dutch-born Nigerian, however, expressed his desire to get regular playing minutes with the Gers.

“I’m at a great club, but I’m 30 years old and want to play every week. Preferably at Rangers. If there are different feelings about that internally, then we need to talk,” he added.
