Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr has identified his clear favorite to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Group C.

Benin, Rwanda, and South Africa are currently tied on seven points in the group after four matches played in the qualifiers.

Nigeria sits in fourth position with three points, ahead of Zimbabwe, who are at the bottom with just two points.

Speaking on the favorite teams to qualify for the Mundial, Rohr named Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles due to the quality of both teams.

However, the Franco-German tipped Hugo Broos' side as the clear favorite ahead of Nigeria.

“South Africa and Nigeria are the favorites in this Group C, and I quite agree.

“They can win the group when you look at the quality of their players, even though some of them are not even playing regularly (with their clubs) because they are not fit enough.

“You can say they are favorites, especially South Africa, but we shall see. But for us, we are preparing well.”
