Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has shared her thoughts on Nigeria's 1-0 defeat to Spain in the 2024 Olympic Games at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes on Sunday, July 28.

Randy Waldrum's side suffered another 1-0 defeat to the world champions after losing to Brazil in their group opener.

Barcelona Femení star Alexia Putellas scored the only goal of the game in the 86th minute from a superb free kick to secure all three points for La Roja.

Speaking in a post-match reaction, Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala expressed her satisfaction with the team's performance. She attributed their defeat to their failure to convert their chances.

“All I can say is I am proud of our performance. I think we played well.

“We played against the world champions, and we had our chances, we had opportunities to score,” Spain, the Bay FC striker said after the game.

“I think the same thing happened to us in the first game. We were not clinical upfront. I think if we start scoring goals, we can compete with any team in the world,” the former Barcelona Femení striker said.

Super Falcons will take on Japan in their next group game on Wednesday, July 31.
