Osimhen vs Finidi: NFF finally breaks silence on Osimhen's social media outburst, issues statement

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied reports that Victor Osimhen has been banned from the Super Eagles.

Despite widespread media reports, NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi clarified that no official communication regarding a ban has been issued.

"The NFF hereby implores the media to join hands with the body to positively resolve issues and then focus on the big picture all the time, rather than needlessly escalate certain matters," Sanusi said.

"There was no official communication from the NFF, yet some persons have gone to town to talk about a ban on Osimhen from the national team. This is not good at all."

The controversy began when Osimhen took to social media to criticize former Super Eagles coach Finidi George, alleging false accusations of feigning injury.

Many called for disciplinary action against the striker, but Sanusi emphasized that the NFF's focus remains on resolving issues and preparing for upcoming tournaments, including the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series.
