Osimhen angers Napoli president De Laurentiis with latest transfer comment

Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has affirmed his stance on his future amid reports linking him with a move away from Galatasaray.

Osimhen joined the Turkish Super Lig giants in September after falling out with his parent club Napoli over his failed transfer to Chelsea.

The 26-year-old's much-anticipated move to Stamford Bridge fell through on transfer deadline day due to contractual disagreements.

The Super Eagles striker is set to stay at Galatasaray for the rest of the campaign after joining Okan Buruk's side on a season-long loan.

Osimhen has been in incredible form since moving to Turkey, netting 13 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions for the club.

Despite joining the reigning Turkish champions on a season loan, a break clause in his contract allows Osimhen to move this January, with Manchester United reportedly interested.

Osimhen is, however, bent on staying at Galatasaray for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.

"I made a promise to Galatasaray. I am very happy here. The fans love me very much. I cannot leave them," the former Lille striker said, as quoted by Webaslan on X.

"If the teams that make me an offer still want me in May, we will sit down and talk again."

Osimhen's decision has reportedly infuriated Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis. The striker's relationship with the Napoli chief has reportedly soured since signing a new deal with the club in December 2023.
