Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been named in the Serie A Team of the Week.
This follows his impressive performance for his side against Bologna.
The shot-stopper made a string of saves that secured a draw for the Zebras at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
In the team was his teammate Lautaro Giannetti.
The 24-year-old played a key role for Udinese last season and was rewarded with a new contract on Tuesday, August 20.
The contract will keep him at th club on June 30, 2028.
This new contract ends any speculation about his future at the club. Okoye joined Udinese from Sky Bet Championship club, Watford, in 2023.
Okoye made 22 league appearances for the Zebras last season, showcasing his shot-stopping abilities, command of the penalty area, and excellent distribution skills.
Before his move to Watford, Okoye played for Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie, where he was also highly regarded. His performances in the Dutch league earned him a move to England and subsequently to Italy.
