Ex-Torino striker Osarimen Giulio Ebagua believes Atalanta's Ademola Lookman is currently the greatest African footballer.
The Super Eagles star was crowned CAF Footballer of the Year last month following his exceptional performances for both club and country.
The 27-year-old guided Atalanta to their first Europa League trophy with a historic hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
The former Leicester City loanee also helped Nigeria to the final of the AFCON with some crucial goals in the knockout stages.
In an interaction with Europa Calcio, Ebagua praised Lookman for his exceptional qualities.
“He’s the strongest African footballer by far,” Ebagua stated.
“He has incredible qualities and can always improve, aiming for the top. Lookman is a phenomenon in terms of characteristics. He can play anywhere and is extraordinary as a human being.
“Next year, I think he should leave Atalanta, even though the club is doing well. In my personal opinion, Lookman can aspire to Real Madrid, Manchester [United], Barcelona—wherever he wants. He will improve further and raise the bar even higher.”
