Nigerian international Semi Ajayi will be sidelined for several weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury with West Bromwich Albion.
Ajayi sustained the injury in West Brim's 2-0 win against Oxford United in the Championship.
He was substituted in the 41st minute of the game played last weekend and will now enter a period of rehabilitation after undergoing surgery.
The 31-year-old recently returned to action after missing out for around four months due to a hamstring injury.
MyNigeria could not confirm if Ajayi was on the radar of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle for Nigeria's World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
