Former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has disclosed that he confronted Victor Osimhen following his social media rant against him.
Osimhen took to social media to attack the former international over claims that he faked an injury to miss Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June. However, the report turned out to be false and misleading.
Following the incident, many football stakeholders, including former internationals, coaches, and fans, urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to take disciplinary action against the Super Eagles striker.
Others have urged the 25-year-old to officially apologize to the former Real Betis forward.
In a latest development, the former Enyimba boss has disclosed that Osimhen is yet to apologize to him. Finidi added that the Galatasaray striker sent a message and later deleted it.
Speaking in an interview with NigeriaInfo, the 53-year-old said:
"I sent him a message privately. What did you hear that you're going hard like this? I said this is not fair. You can ask people that were there.
"I sent him a message privately, which he didn't respond. It's like he sent me a message and deleted it. So, I couldn't read what he sent, I didn't know of he apologised or he didn't. I couldn't read his message before he deleted it.
