Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has shared his thoughts on the club's recent struggles in the Premier League.
The Blues recorded another disappointing result after throwing away an early lead against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday, January 25.
Goals from Josko Gvardiol, Erling Haaland, and Phil Foden ensured that Noni Madueke's early strike only counted for a consolation.
The result means Enzo Maresca's side have managed just a single win in their last seven Premier League matches.
Sharing his thoughts on the game, Mikel Obi criticized Nicolas Jackson and Robert Sanchez for the team's defeat to Pep Guardiola's side.
"No, he is not a top keeper. What I keep on saying is that players who are good enough to win the league are the ones we need. Win the league and put us in the top four. He's not that goalkeeper, and Nicolas is not that striker who will get us to win the league. Top four they might get us there, but to win the league, to put us where we belong, they are not the people for me. Sanchez has shown that again with that mistake.
"What were you doing by rushing out? I know if you call Peter Cech now off the cuff, in private, he will tell you the same thing, but I'm the only person who is coming out to say it."
