Southampton boss Ivan Juric has praised Nigerian international Joe Aribo for his versatility.

The Croatian manager recently deployed Aribo in the center-back role and believes that the Super Eagles star is capable of playing the position.

While admitting that Aribo tends to be more forward-oriented, which is his natural role, Juric noted that he did a great job in the defensive position.

"I think it's not natural, but he can do it because when you play three at the back, you don't need classical center-backs," Juric told the Daily Echo.

“Aribo, normally if I use him always there, he will go down, because mentally he's a midfielder and he wants to attack. But sometimes, he's a great guy, he can do it.”

Southampton lost by a lone goal to Burnley in the FA Cup Premier League fourth-round tie on Saturday, February 8.
