Ademola Lookman Senior, father of the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year, has attributed his son's success to his humility, focus, and commitment.
The Atalanta star was deservedly crowned the best African Footballer of the Year at the CAF Awards ceremony held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 16.
The 27-year-old became the sixth Super Eagles star to win the prestigious award, following in the footsteps of Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amunike, Victor Ikpeba, Nwankwo Kanu, and Victor Osimhen.
Lookman succeeded his Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, who won the prestigious award last year.
Speaking on his son's success, Lookman's father hailed his son's exceptional qualities, which he believes won him the award.
“I am proud of him as a father because he is a very committed player. He is very humble, and he does not like too much publicity because he really wants to focus on his football. That is what has taken him to this level,” he told Live Score.
