Former Southampton player, Manolo Gabbiadini, has been diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus, becoming the second Serie A player to test positive for coronavirus.
Recall the Mynigeria.com reported the case of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani who tested positive for COVID-19.
Gabbiadini, 28, who now plays for Sampdoria in the Italian League, has now been placed in isolation after contracting the virus.
A Sampdoria statement read: 'UC Sampdoria announce that player Manolo Gabbiadini has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19.
'He has a slight fever, but is doing well. The club is activating all the procedures of isolation laid out in the rules.'
Top-flight leagues in Spain and Italy have been postponed, while Wednesday's game between Manchester City and Arsenal was postponed as a "precautionary measure". [BBC]
All Serie A matches have been suspended until at least April 3.
