Former Liberia coach Roberto Landi has stated reasons why he should be given the vacant Super Eagles job.
The Italian tactician said it would be a dream come true if he were given the job.
This comes amid the controversy that surrounded the departure of Finidi George and the appointment of a substantive coach.
In an interview reported by Punch Sports, the former National Bucharest manager explained why becoming Nigeria’s coach would be a dream come true.
"Yes, it’s a dream for a coach to lead a top senior national team like Nigeria. If you speak with Massimiliano Allegri and some Serie A coaches, they would agree that coaching Nigeria is a dream because you represent more than 200 million people and one of the top 20 strong countries in the world," Landi said.
Earlier this week, the NFF debunked rumors that it had contacted two-time AFCON-winning coach Herve Renard to take over the role.
Other coaches linked to the role are Miguel Herrera, Didier Six, Joaquin Caparros, Luis Fernandez, and Antonio Conceicao.
The Super Eagles have been without a manager following the departure of Finidi George, who left just 47 days after being appointed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
