Napoli star Victor Osimhen has been in the news recently for his social media outburst against former Super Eagles coach Finidi George.
Osimhen reacted angrily to Finidi's alleged questioning of his commitment to the national team, shortly after his resignation last month.
The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many calling for disciplinary action against the Napoli Starman, although the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declined to take action.
In a related incident, Fulham's Calvin Bassey reportedly showed disrespect to former Enyimba coach Finidi George, according to a Super Eagles player who was part of the squad for Nigeria's qualifier matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
According to a report by OwnGoalNigeria, the player, who spoke anonymously, revealed that Bassey refused to play in the left-back position against Benin Republic, forcing the coach to adjust his formation.
"Bassey refused to play at left back against Benin Republic. He only agreed to switch positions after we went 2-1 down. The way we played in the second half was our original plan, but Bassey's refusal forced the coaches to change the formation, which backfired in the first half," the player disclosed.
