Legendary Italian coach Fabio Capello has tipped Atalanta to challenge for the Scudetto title this season.
Atalanta have never won the Serie A league title, but had a remarkable campaign last season, winning the Europa League.
It was the first European title for the Black and Blues who shocked Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europe League final with Nigeria's Ademola Lookman netting a historic hat-trick.
The Super Eagles forward also netted 17 goals and provided 11 assists for La Dea across all competitions.
Lookman's remarkable campaign last term has attracted interests from top clubs across Europe with Arsenal, PSG and Liverpool reportedly interested in his signature.
Despite the links, Atalanta are yet to receive a concrete offer for the former RB Leipzig forward.
Former Real Madrid and England manager, Capello, believes that the Nigerian international will be a crucial asset in the club's chase for their first Scudetto title if he stays this season.
“I liked Atalanta’s moves, with the arrival of Bellanova, a great signing. And if Lookman stays, watch out for Gasp (Gasperini),” Capello told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Atalanta began their Serie A campaign on a blistering note, beating Lecce 4-0 on matchday one. However, La Dea stumbled to a 2-1 defeat against Torino on matchday 2.
