Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has provided the latest update on his injury situation.
The 25-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig two weekends ago after scoring twice inside the opening 28 minutes of the game.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year couldn’t continue the rest of the game and was substituted in the first half.
Osimhen has been sidelined for a couple of weeks and will miss the Super Eagles’ upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier doubleheader against Libya on October 11 and 15.
Earlier reports suggested that the former Lille striker could be out for close to six weeks. However, the player, in a recent viral video, has stated that he will return to the pitch after the international break.
The Super Eagles striker disclosed this when asked about his return to action as he walked through the mixed zone after Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Alanyaspor on Sunday, October 6.
Osimhen has so far registered two goals and three assists in his first three games for the Turkish Super Lig champions.
