The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has named Super Eagles duo Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman among its 30-man shortlist for the 2024 Best Player award.

Lookman and Osimhen have been in impressive form this year for both club and country.

Lookman starred in the Europa League final, scoring a stunning hat-trick to guide Atalanta to their first European title against Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Leicester City loanee also registered 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for La Dea last season.

Osimhen, on the other hand, netted 15 goals in 25 Serie A appearances for Napoli last season and is enjoying a great start to his campaign at his new side Galatasaray.

Lookman and Osimhen also guided the Super Eagles to the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, with the latter scoring three goals.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland won the award last season.
