Onyedika stirs trouble after second red card in four European matches

Club Brugge manager Nicky Hayen has disclosed that he will have a meeting with Nigerian international Raphael Onyedika following his sending off against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

The 23-year-old received an early red card in the 40th minute after committing a dangerous tackle on Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders.

It was the Super Eagles star's second dismissal in his last four European matches—a poor disciplinary record which has left his manager displeased.

Onyedika's dismissal proved costly as his side lost the game 3-1 at the San Siro.

In a post-match press conference, Club Brugge manager Hayen disclosed that he will hold a private meeting with the former Midtjylland midfielder to find solutions to that aspect of his game.

“We were, of course, surprised that Raphael got a red. I think we can talk about bad luck – and unfortunately, the decision fell to our disadvantage,” Hayen said after the game.

“We will have a calm talk about it on Wednesday. In that area, we are a warm club that does not let players fall. We will try to find a solution, but this kind of error needs to be worked on with Raphael.”
