Euro 2024: Why France will win tournament — Oliseh

Former Super Eagles player and coach Sunday Oliseh has tipped 2022 World Cup finalists France to win the ongoing European championship.

The former Borussia Dortmund star believes the return of N'Golo Kanté to the French national team makes Dideir Deschamps' side real favourites in Germany.

The Al-Ittihad midfielder has not featured for the Les Bleus for the last two years due to his fitness concerns.

Kanté missed out on the last edition of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to a hamstring injury.

The 33-year-old was exceptional on his return to the team after his Man-of-the-Match performance helped France to a 1-0 win against Austria on Monday, June 17.

Taking to his X handle, Oliseh hailed Kanté as one of the best defensive midfielders of all-time.

“The Gigantic Alien of Football” is back!! what a pleasure to watch one of my favourite defensive midfielders of all times, Ngolo Kante back to international football for France yesterday,” Oliseh wrote on X on Tuesday.

“I now feel France is a real favorite to win the Euros!!”
