Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has named defender Wesley Fofana as the player he is "in love with."

The French defender has been a pivotal member of the Blues squad after recovering from his long-term injury.

Fofana was in action for the entirety of the game when the Blues secured a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, November 10.

Gabriel Martinelli gave Mikel Arteta's side the lead in the 60th minute before Pedro Neto equalized for the home side ten minutes later.

In a post-match interview, Maresca showered encomiums on the 23-year-old.

“Let me say again: I’m in love with Wes Fofana. He spent all of last season injured and came back in the way he is fighting every day. He probably has to play until the end of his career with pain. You have to be strong, and he is like this.”
