Enyimba FC, one of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants, has announced the dismissal of its head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju.

The club made the announcement on Saturday via a social media post, thanking the 32-year-old coach for his contributions and wishing him success in his future endeavors.

“Enyimba FC can confirm that it has parted ways with head coach Yemi Olanrewaju. The club thanks Coach Olanrewaju for his services and wishes him the best in his future endeavors,” the statement read.

Olanrewaju, who was appointed seven months ago following the departure of Finidi George, leaves amid a difficult period for the club.

Enyimba is currently enduring a nine-match winless streak across all competitions, including six consecutive draws in the league.

Their struggles in the CAF Confederations Cup have left them at the bottom of Group D, with only one point from three matches.

The decision to part ways with Olanrewaju came just 48 hours after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Plateau United in the NPFL.

Enyimba, the league’s most successful club, currently sits 11th on the table with 23 points from 15 matches.

In his time at the helm, Olanrewaju managed 26 matches, securing nine wins and suffering seven losses.

Despite his previous roles as an assistant manager at Magate FC, MFM, and Vandrezzer, his stint at Enyimba failed to produce the desired results for the club.
