Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey has expressed his disappointment over Fulham's draw against Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby.

The Cottagers held Spurs to a 1-1 draw away at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday, December 1.

After thrashing the Premier League title holders 4-0 at Etihad Stadium the previous week, Ange Postecoglou's side failed to replicate the same performance against their London rivals, who were also thrashed 4-1 by Wolves in their last Premier League encounter.

Brennan Johnson gave the home side the lead in the 54th minute before skipper Tom Cairney equalized for the visitors following a fine assist from Alex Iwobi.

In a post-match reaction, Bassey stated that his side deserved more than a draw, crediting Spurs goalkeeper Fraser Forster for denying Fulham the maximum three points.

“I think we deserved more,” Bassey said.

“Fraser Forster [Tottenham’s goalkeeper] made some incredible saves—three that could have been goals.

“We were a bit unlucky, especially with the red card when we had momentum.

“But on the bright side, we managed the game well and didn’t concede late, which has been an issue in past matches.”
