Cristiano Ronaldo will lead Portugal to the 2024 European Championship in Germany in what could be his last appearance at the continental tournament or even any major event.

The veteran is one of the most accomplished footballers of all time and one of the greatest international superstars, and if he leaves the scene in a big way, he could cement his legacy.

At 39, he is set to hit some milestones at this tournament, but whatever he does could be limited by his international teammate and veteran defender, Pepe, who is 41 and could impede his age records.

Let's look at six records Ronaldo could break in Germany.

1. Most Euro tournaments played and scored in

According to Planet Football, the five-time UEFA Champions League winner already holds this record but could extend it. He has played and scored in five tournaments. Realistically, the record for most featured in will undoubtedly be extended to six, but it remains to be seen whether he will score.

2. Most Teams of the Tournament featured in

Four players have featured in the team of the tournament three times: Ronaldo, Pepe, Laurent Blanc, and Paolo Maldini. The 2016 winning captain could become the first player to feature in four if he's named in the best XI in Germany.

3. Most Euros Golden Boots

The former Real Madrid star received the Golden Boot in Euro 2020 with five goals, tied with Czech Republic’s Patrik Schick. If he wins this year's top scorer award, he will become the first to have two golden boots.

4. Most Euro assists

According to Viva Posta, Ronaldo has provided six assists in the competition and is tied with former Czech international winger, Karel Poborsky. He will become the outright playmaker if he assists a teammate at this year's event. Belgium's Kevin De Bruyne has five and is also one to watch out for.

5. Most Euros chances created

According to BBC Sports, Ronaldo has created 42 chances in the last five tournaments he has played in. He is one behind compatriot, Luis Figo, who created 42 chances. He needs two more to surpass that tally and be number one.

6. Second player to win two Euros as captain

Former Spanish national team captain, Iker Casillas, is the only player to win the tournament twice as the skipper - in 2008 and 2012. If Portugal goes all the way, his former Real Madrid teammate will be the second player to achieve the feat.
