Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly ended their pursuit of Victor Osimhen and have shifted their focus to Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface as their prime summer transfer target.
The Blues are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.
Performances from the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu have fallen short of expectations, prompting the club to explore other options.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are making a strong push to bring Boniface to Stamford Bridge next season.
However, the London club faces stiff competition from other Premier League sides, including Arsenal and Newcastle United, who are also keen on signing the Nigerian striker.
Boniface was on the verge of joining Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr in January, but the deal fell through after the Saudi club opted for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran instead.
The Super Eagles forward has scored 10 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions for Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen this season.
