Chelsea have turned their attention to Samu Omorodion after backing off from a potential deal for Victor Osimhen.

The Blues are keen on securing the services of another striker to bolster their attack ahead of next season.

According to reports, Spanish giants Athletico Madrid rejected the Blues' official bid for the talented striker on Tuesday, June 18.

Transfermarkt expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the bid is around €30m plus add-ons up to €40m package.

Chelsea have set their sights on Omorodion and Aston Villa's Jhon Durán as summer targets for a new striker.

However, Athletico Madrid are keen on maintaining Omorodion for next season despite loaning him out to Deportivo Alaves last season.

Born in Spain to Nigerian parents, Omorodion is eligible to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria, despite representing Nigeria at the U-19 and U-21 levels.

The young striker is valued at €40m and has a contract with Athletico Madrid until 2028.
