Former Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has joined fellow Spaniard Xavi's Qatari side Al Sadd.

The Doha club announced the signing of the 35-year-old from Spanish side Villarreal.

Carzola played his last game for the Yellow Submarines on Sunday after announcing that he would depart his boyhood club last week.

Confirming the move on Twitter, his new side said: "Welcome to our club Santi.

"We wish you all the best and we hope we can win many titles together. Many thanks!"
