Aston Villa have been given the green light to pursue Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to reports.
The Premier League outfit had expressed interest in the Super Eagles striker but were concerned about his fitness due to limited game time last season.
However, Dr. Rajpal Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, has assured the club that Iheanacho has no significant fitness concerns.
"He's not had any injuries that would be red flags for any club looking to sign him, but he hasn't played many minutes," Dr. Brar explained.
"The lack of game time can certainly be a worry, so the key is he needs to be brought in gradually."
Iheanacho is a free agent after his contract with Leicester City expired last month.
He faced challenges securing regular playing time since the African Cup of Nations, largely due to a strained relationship with former Leicester City coach Enzo Maresca.
Reports suggest Maresca was displeased with Iheanacho's decision to represent Nigeria at the AFCON despite not being fully fit.
Aston Villa has emerged as a likely destination for the Nigerian international, with reports indicating talks between Villa's sporting director Monchi and Iheanacho's representatives over a potential summer move.
Iheanacho boasts an impressive Premier League record, with 196 appearances, 42 goals, and 25 assists in the topflight.
