Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala has disclosed why Victor Osimhen declined a move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
Osimhen, 25, has become a hot topic in the transfer window this summer as his reported move from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium collapsed with few hours for the transfer window to close.
Despite several interest from clubs in Europe, Chelsea and Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli were the two frontrunners in the race for the Super Eagles striker's signature on transfer deadline day.
Al Ahli pulled out of the deal to sign the Super Eagles striker after Napoli demanded an extra €5 million in addition to the already agreed transfer fee.
Chelsea's transfer delegation to Italy also walked off the deal after Osimhen turned down the Blues €4 million offer in wages.
In a tweet which has now been taken down, the former Barcelona Femeni striker cited the poor terms of the deal offered the Blues as the reason the reigning African Footballer of the Year declined a move to Stamford Bridge.
“If you hear wetin your club offer Victor Osimhen even you sef go swear for them,” the 29-year-old wrote on X.
Osimhen has reportedly fallen out with Napoli, leading to his removal from the first team.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has also been stripped off his number 9. shirt which the club has given to new signing Romelu Lukaku.
