Former Super Eagles international Victor Ikpeba has predicted that South Africa may drop points in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Bafana Bafana currently sit at the top of Group C with 10 points following their 2-0 victory over Lesotho last Friday.
Hugo Broos' side is currently four points ahead of the Super Eagles, who moved to fourth place after their commanding 2-0 victory against Rwanda away in Kigali.
While Eric Chelle's side hosts the Warriors of Zimbabwe in their sixth qualifying encounter, the Bafana Bafana will be away to Gernot Rohr's Benin Republic side at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan later tonight.
Ahead of the two encounters, Ikpeba expressed confidence that, despite their recent improvement, Hugo Broos' team is likely to drop points in some of their remaining fixtures.
“South Africa lost to Rwanda, which shows they are beatable,” Ikpeba was quoted by SCORENigeria.
“They have improved under coach Hugo Broos—see how they outclassed Lesotho on Friday.
“But I strongly believe that South Africa will drop points somewhere. It is up to the Super Eagles to win our remaining games because we want to be at the World Cup,” Ikpeba emphasized.
