Glasgow Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers is unfazed by Eric Chelle's decision to leave him out of his final 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Despite racking up 10 goals and three assists in his last 13 appearances for the Gers, the 30-year-old didn't make the cut after Chelle released his final squad for the crucial qualifiers next week.
Eric Chelle opted for the likes of Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman, Sadiq Umar, Samuel Chukwueze and Tolu Arokodare, overlooking the Dutch-born Nigerian international.
Dessers, who is Nigeria's second highest scorer in Europe with 22 goals and six assists for Rangers, has stated that he is not perturbed about being left out of the Super Eagles squad.
“It’s important to stay level, don’t go down in the bad period, don’t let it get into your head in the good periods,” Dessers told Sky Sports Scotland ahead of Ranger crucial Europa League clash against Fenerbahce.
“But at this point, I feel good, I feel confident, obviously I’ve scored a few goals in the last games, but I want more,” the striker added.
Dessers' omission has been criticized by fans who believe his staggering numbers should have earned him a place in the team.
