The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Pot 1 ahead of the draw for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
On Wednesday, July 3, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) published the draw procedure on its official website.
According to CAF, the top teams in the latest FIFA Rankings, released on June 20, 2024, will occupy the Pot 1 positions.
Nigeria is joined in Pot 1 by Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Mali, South Africa, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The final qualification draw will consist of 12 groups of four teams (Groups A to L), with the winners and runners-up in each group qualifying for the tournament.
The draw will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday, June 4.
For the first time, the AFCON 2025 finals will be held between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026.
