2027: I won't support GEJ for President, he's a weak leader - IG Wala

Goodluck Jonathan Goodluck Jonathan

Political activist, IG Wala, has said former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) was a weak leader with an incompetent administration.

This was as he revealed that he will not support a GEJ candidacy if such is fielded in the 2027 presidential election.

IG Wala said this amid growing calls for GEJ to run for President, as the fortunes of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar continues to dwindle ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said on Facebook, "If former president Jonathan will come to contest 2027, I will not support the idea bcos there's nothing spectacular about his administration. It was the foundation of party dominance and arrogance garnished with high level of incompetence.

"He was a gentleman and weak leader that was saying yes to everyone that comes with everything. That could be his own way of tackling desperation, but such attitudes made corruption to thrive easily.

"Unlike the days of Obasanjo, even corruption manifested, but service delivery to some extent was averagely rated and the economy was never that bad.

"If only GEJ had a clear vision of what he was to achieve, he would have remain focused and continued to bring in people with capacity like Obasanjo did.

"For those that are trying to market GEJ for 2027, simply because we are at our lowest politically and terribly pushing under bad leadership and governance, you can't think of bring someone who only got the seat through the exit of his principal naturally to fix the country. We need a strong and purpose driven leader who will radically take us off the existing political pattern, deal with serious issues of insecurity, economic and tackle the poor lawlessness within the judiciary.

"Finally, I repeat that he is a gentleman. Nigeria is seeking for a real leader with a strong mindset on tackling complex national issues."
