A Lagos politician, Olukayode Salako, has said killings in the north cannot be stopped because it is their culture and tradition.

This was as he posed a challenge to those criticizing President Bola Tinubu over the renewed killings in the north.

According to him, it might have to ale a president from the moon to end the killing, because past presidents did their best to no avail.

Salako pointed out that it is the north that can stop the killings only if they are willing to do away with their culture and tradition.

He wrote on Facebook, "When OBJ was in power and there were active killings from the North, Jonathan, Yaradua, Buhari and Tinubu, thought he was incompetent.

*Yaradua, took over, killings from the North did not stop. It was even during Yaradua's time that Bokoharam was officially launched and became operationally active in Nigeria.

"Jonathan took over as the president, he couldn't do anything to stop it.

"He even tried to nip it in the bud, by declaring state of emergencies on the security situation of two Northern states, in spite, the killing situation became worse.

"I can remember President Tinubu, when he was in the opposition then, released a public statement, where he doubted the competence of Jonathan to fight and win the war.

"Buhari, their own son in the North, took over from Jonathan, and the killings were even more brutally intense and severe, during his 8-year reign as the president of Nigeria.

"Now, Tinubu is the president, the North is still killing, maiming and destroying as usual.

"This is a proof, that what the Nigerian government has been warring against for ages in Nigeria, is simply the culture, tradition and normal way of life of the majority of the people of the Northern parts of Nigeria.

"That is the reason no president has been able to fight and win the war in history.

"I insist, no president goes to war against the culture, tradition and normal way of life of the people of a tribe, anywhere and win absolutely, except that government would want to, or be determined to wipe out the culture of that tribe and all its people, which is hardly possible.

"Can president Tinubu, today, wipe out the people of the Northern part of Nigeria and their culture?!

"Can he wipe out their culture, tradition and way of life?!

"Go and bring that President from the moon, if there would be killings from that part of Nigeria, there would be, and no president would be able to do anything to completely stop it.

"It is a guerrilla warfare, that many countries, where Islamic extremism is dominant, have been fighting from time immemorial.

"And hardly has any of them completely won the war, or absolutely eradicated the agelong social menace on earth."

He further stated that the main reason killings won't ever stop in the Northern part of Nigeria is because Islamic fundamentalism and extremism are dominantly the culture, tradition and way of life of the people of that part of Nigeria.

"So, to kill; to maim; to attack; to harass- to slaughter; to behead; to bomb and to destroy human lives (infidels) for socio-political and religious domination, is a normal routine to the contents and nature of their social orientation.

"However, if killings of other Nigerians, must ever stop at all from the North, then the North must go and do something realistic about that its operational culture.

"That culture is the main reason the North won't be able to stop killing the rest of Nigerians.

"Now, I see Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and co., also saying President Tinubu is incompetent, all because they are in the opposition and also want to take over power as president.

"When President Tinubu, was also in the opposition, he also publicly said the same thing on several occasions.

"He is the president of Nigeria right now, and the killings are still actively alive," he said.
