Super Eagles full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel has spoken about his future at Fenerbahçe as his current contract with the club nears its expiration at the end of the season.

Negotiations for a new deal have stalled since the start of the year, despite manager José Mourinho’s interest in retaining the Nigerian international.

Osayi-Samuel is reportedly seeking a significant increase in his current annual wage before agreeing to a new contract with the Canaries.

Following Fenerbahçe’s 3-1 victory over Sivasspor on Sunday, April 13, the 27-year-old confirmed he will meet with the club president to discuss his future.

“It’s actually hard to comment on this situation. Many people act like they know the subject! I play for Fenerbahçe, and I’m very happy about it,” Osayi-Samuel said.

“People say different things. It was said that a contract was signed and that I didn’t accept it, but there is no such situation."

“I have a very good dialogue with the president. My only thought right now is the championship. We will meet with our president after the season is over and see what happens.”

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahçe from Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship in 2021.
