Rivers Crisis: Forgive and forget, Igbokwe tells Wike

Fubara and Wike Fubara and Wike

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is right in the confusion and crisis in Rivers State, which also involves the governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

He, however, urged the minister to forgive and forget for the good of the Commonwealth.

This was as he revealed how he entered into a legal battle with Wike in the past which was settled by President Bola Tinubu.

He said, "Wike is my friend. I had an encounter with former CJN Onoghen concerning Supreme Court ruling on Rivers State Governorship elections few years back and Governor Wike stepped into the matter and threatened to drag me to Court. I contacted my good friend Femi Falana SAN. Femi forwarded 50 page documents to me that proved the case beyond reasonable doubt. It was PBAT that reconciled us."

Igbokwe further stated that Rivers State citizens do not deserve the confusion and waste of precious gift of time on acrimony and division.

He said, "It has been a needless distraction that they should be put behind them. This the time for genuine reconciliation. This is time to Sheath the sword and this is the time to let peace reign in Rivers State.

"FCT Minister should show leadership, he should forgive his son, Fubara, he should let the sleeping dog lie for the sake of citizens of Rivers State. What was denied the Law Makers should be given to them. Let everybody de together for now. It is not going to be 'Dey your Dey make I Dey my Dey' Let everybody Dee together now."
