The Senate Committee Chair on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, Neda Imasuen, has said that the Senate President has not made any sexual remarks to any female Senator.

Imaseun said this in an interview with Arise TV this morning while reacting to the sexual harassment allegation Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan leveled against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking during his interview, Imaseun said

"We have four female senators in this 10th Assembly and I will tell you that I am very close to at least threee of them. I sit next to Senator Ireti Kingibe. The issue you are speaking about doesn't bother about Sexual harassment against her. It is a matter of privilege.

The Senate President has not, in my opinion, made any sexual remarks to any of the female senators, and I don't think that any of the female senators have also complained about sexual harassment against him or anybody. We joke a lot in the Senate. The Senate is a place where we converge to discuss the matters that affect the country.

If the familiarity is considered a form of harassment, then I don't know. But for me, I don’t believe that the conduct of the Senate President is in any way disrespectful towards women," he said.
