Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has quickly put his side's 7-1 win away at PSV behind him ahead of an Old Trafford showdown against Manchester United.

Arsenal won the game thanks to goals from Jurrien Timber, Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino, Martin Odegaard (2), Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori.

The London side is now comfortably in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Speaking in a post-match briefing, Arteta relished the victory but quickly set his sights on the future.

He said, "Well, it obviously gives us a lot of joy, confidence and belief, and then in football, it’s not what we did three days ago, or today, it’s about what we’re going to do tomorrow, or at Old Trafford, how we behave and able to win again, and that’s it. Enjoy tonight because it was a very impressive performance, an unbelievable score, so we deserve that, and now take that, and keep improving as a team."

On his part, PSV coach Peter Bosz described the game as a“Terrible night for us."

“No chance. Maybe two moments in the game – our first chance after 15 minutes when we hit the bar and the second yellow were moments to come back in the game.

“Football wise we had no chance. We were not in our best form. Arsenal played fantastic, we had no chance tonight.

“We had a plan we analysed them we thought that we could hurt them somewhere but if you look at how we defended, really poor. You can not be successful if you play this way,” Bosz told reporters.
