Kanunta Kanu, the brother of the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has said Nigeria is a zoo because the likes of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, is yet to resign amid a sexual harassment allegation levelled against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
A few days ago, Senator Natasha accused Akpabio on national television of punishing her for refusing his sexual advances.
This was after Akpabio refused to acknowledge her contribution during plenary because she was not speaking from the seat she was assigned to, a rule agreed to be strictly followed in the Senate.
Since the allegation, many pressure groups have been voicing in support of Akpabio while some condemn Senator Natasha who represents Kogi Central at the Senate.
Reacting, Kanunta lambasted the Senate President for failing to resign from the position to clear his name, just as he accused him of hiring pressure groups to speak on his behalf.
In a post on X, he said, "The reason Nigeria is called #zoo.
"First example: Senator Godswill Akpabio vs Senator Natasha Akpoti sexual harassment and intimidation, instead of Akpabio to stand down from his position as a Senate President and allow an impartial investigation to take place, rather - he is begging the whole country and paying every pressure group to be attacking Natasha instead of Nigerians demanding to find out the truth.
"Second example: Governor Fubara should obey the Supreme Court ruling, that is why every political “criminal” in Nigeria is shouting, just like a mad man in “Oshodi bridge”. And why are the same people not pressuring @officialABAT, The president of Nigeria, AGF and The “monetised” Federal High Courts in Abuja to obey the same Supreme Court ruling that said revocation of #MaziNnamdiKanu bail is an injustice against him?
"Now you understand, don’t cry when people call Nigeria Zoological Republic."
