Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi.

According to CaughtOffside, the Leicester City midfielder has been shortlisted by the Madrid-based club among the options they are considering for their defensive midfield role.

Captain Koke Resurrection is slowly approaching the twilight of his career, and Thomas Lemar is also expected to leave the Wanda Metropolitano at the end of the season. Hence, there is a need to sign a new defensive midfielder for the pivot role.

The club is also considering the signing of Mallorca’s Samu Costa.

Ndidi was linked with a summer move to Barcelona last summer when manager Xavi Hernandez was still in charge of the Catalan club.

Aside from Atleti, Real Betis is the La Liga outfit that has shown interest in the Super Eagles midfielder.

AS Monaco in Ligue 1 are also reportedly interested in signing Ndidi from Leicester City.
