Former President Muhammadu Buhari has defended his administration, stating he left Nigeria’s economy and security in good shape.

He made these comments on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, while meeting with members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his home in Daura, Katsina State.

Buhari claimed that both security and the economy had significantly improved compared to their state in 2015.

“Nigeria’s security and economy improved significantly under my administration compared to what we met in 2015,” Buhari said.

The former president is confident that the progress made during his tenure will continue to benefit the country, stating, “Things will continue to improve in Nigeria.”

In June 2024, former Senator Shehu Sani expressed concern that the insecurity had worsened under former President Muhammadu Buhari compared to President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Additionally, during an interview on Channels Television in September 2024, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Shehu Gabam, highlighted that Nigeria’s economy was in a terrible state under Buhari than Tinubu.
