Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has returned to full fitness and resumed training with the Italian Serie A outfit.

The Nigerian goalkeeper had been sidelined since sustaining a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist in December.

According to Tutto Udinese, the 25-year-old returned to training with Udinese on Wednesday and will be available for selection ahead of their clash against Napoli.

“A day of returns to the Bruseschi sports centre, where during today’s (Wednesday) Udinese training session, several players who have been away from the field in recent weeks due to injuries were seen on the pitch again,” the website wrote.

“In addition to Keinan Davis and Kingsley Ehizibue, Maduka Okoye also took part in the week’s session that will lead up to the match against Napoli. The Nigerian goalkeeper, who has been struggling with a wrist injury that has kept him out since early December, has therefore started training with his teammates again.”

Okoye's return comes as a huge boost for Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle as he prepares for his first games at the helm following his appointment last month.

Nigeria will resume their World Cup campaign next month when they take on Rwanda on March 21 and Zimbabwe five days later.
